EDGE BOX
EDGE BOX is a partner programme in development. It is product direction, not a generally available Tabbify service.
The need being explored
Some organisations need application processing and data to remain in a particular locality because of regulation, customer commitments, latency, or operational control. The programme is exploring whether a sealed regional appliance can extend the Tabbify operating model into a partner-run facility while keeping that local boundary clear.
This is a concrete deployment need, not a promise that Tabbify currently serves a particular location.
Proposed responsibility model
The partner would own the local foundation:
- facility and rack space;
- power and cooling;
- connectivity;
- physical access and local presence.
Tabbify would supply the software stack and a remote operating model. The exact boundary between remote and on-site work must be designed and tested with the first partner rather than inferred from the cloud service.
What must be validated first
Before a first site can be offered, the programme must validate:
- the facility, power, cooling, connectivity, and physical-security assumptions;
- installation, replacement, and remote-recovery procedures;
- the division of responsibilities between the partner and Tabbify;
- demand, utilisation, support cost, and site economics;
- acceptance criteria that can be measured at the proposed site.
Current status
EDGE BOX is not generally available. This page makes no commitment about launch timing, locations, appliance configuration, security properties or certification, disconnected or autonomous operation, service availability, or an SLA. Those details can only follow a validated first-site design and a written partner agreement.
Organisations with a specific data-locality or regional requirement can discuss a partner validation.
